Good Movies? - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Good Movies?   Good Movies? - Page 2 EmptySat May 23, 2009 4:15 pm

This weekend we watched Twilight, finally. I didn't read the books, so I wasn't exactly CRAZED to see the movie as soon as it came out. I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not because I typically don't get in to "those" kinds of movies, but I was really drawn in by the whole narration and story plot. I've heard a lot of people say they didn't like Bella, but I liked her (: & Edward too. I'm looking forward to the sequals... there will be sequals, right?

We also watched "Run Fat Boy, Run"... within the first 10 minutes I wanted to turn off the tv, but we stuck with it & there were some pretty funny parts. Some predictable, but I liked it (: I knew it was a british comedy, and yet I didn't think it was going to be british humor...but yeah, definitely a different type of comedy!

Ian loves Kung Fu Panda... in fact, no lie, 5 minutes ago he said "I'm going to relax." I went in the bedroom.. Kung Fu Panda was on. Laughing

We went to see Terminator Salvation on Thursday. Seriously, Christian Bale... I used to think you were hot.... now I think you need to see a doc about that bronchitis.

Watched Quantum of Solace last night, I liked it. I was skeptical of Daniel Craig as Bond at first, but whooo.. now I think he's the best since Sean Connery.

PostSubject: Re: Good Movies?   Good Movies? - Page 2 EmptySun Jun 07, 2009 9:27 am

Saw a bunch of movies recently...

Taken- decent, nothing spectacular.

Gran Torino- I was annoyed in the beginning, I'm young(ish), I don't really know who Clint Eastwood is, so to me, this was just some random old guy playing a grumpy old man who was racist and swore a lot. But as the movie went on, I liked it more and more. And it had a GREAT ending- so I was very pleased with this movie over all!

The Visitor- LOVED IT! Sad ending, but great movie!

Memento- It's a really good movie, but I always have a hard time watching it straight through- I usually fall asleep. lol

I started The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but we got bored after 15 minutes and changed it to something else. I will try to watch it again some other time.

Nina: I have tried to watch Memento like 5 times in the past 7 years and have fallen asleep every time. Also, watched Benjamin Button... tried to like it, but was blah. My husband, however, acted like the movie changed his whole life. He was quoting it on Facebook and junk.

LOL!

We just sent Lakeview Terrace back to Netflix. It was okay. There were some annoying, uncomfortable parts, but I guess that was the point. Kerry Washington is great. I really believed them as a couple. Samuel L. Jackson was scary. Next up: RocknRolla and Mamma Mia!

Just finished Mamma Mia! and I loved it! It was way better than I thought it would be. Looks like a fun time filming and now I must go to Greece.

Spoiler Alert:

My only pet peeve was the wedding situation. I hate it in movies and TV when one couple decides not to get married and another in the crowd just takes their place on the altar as if it's just that simple. I had to just about move mountains to make sure DH and I had a slot at the courthouse the day after he came back from training. Tons of paperwork. I know it kills the romance, but I wouldn't mind seeing paperwork in these movies.

LOL That's funny.. paperwork in movies.
I hear ya though.. I get very frustrated with movies over totally unreal things. I'm such a huge critic when it comes to movies.. it's amazing that there are ANY movies that I enjoy LOL

I just saw a movie I liked.. what was it... Dan In Real Life.. just saw it for the 2nd time yesterday... I enjoy that movie.
Also saw Crash, I really liked that too.. despite some sad events Sad I cried a few times during that movie.
